Corden plays down Lily Allen romance

James Corden has played down rumours that he is dating Lily Allen.

The Gavin and Stacey actor reportedly confirmed he was dating Allen earlier this week. Corden met the singer on her chatshow in March.

However, the comedian has now insisted the rumours were "made up" and claimed that he was just good friends with the popstar.

He told the BBC: "It's just all made up - everything! She is just a mate of mine that I have gone out with a couple of times. It's nothing like the tabloids say."

Commenting on his newly found status as a sex symbol, Corden said: "I'm aware of it. It's odd because it feels like people are asking me why I think I'm attractive, and what they mean is: 'What's that about, because you're obviously not hot.'

"No one is asking Brad Pitt that question."
