Atkinson determined to finish Wall walk

Gemma Atkinson has said that she is determined to complete her charity walk across the Great Wall of China.

The former Hollyoaks star said that she was finding the trek "gruelling", but added that thinking about her partner Marcus Bent was keeping her going.

Atkinson also said the fundraiser, which is organised by Olivia Newton-John, wasn’t as tough as going on I’m A Celebrity…

She told the Daily Star: "I’m enjoying every minute, but it’s pretty hard work. I go to the gym five times a week and I think I’m quite fit, but I have been finding this quite gruelling.

"But I’m determined to make it to the end. I’ve vowed to myself that I’ll find the stamina to do it.

"It’s an amazing experience, very different to the jungle. And it’s been such an eye-opener – we’ve been walking past really isolated parts of China.

"I am missing Marcus, but he’s really proud of me for doing this so that definitely helps keep me going. It’s pretty tough - but it’s definitely not the jungle!"

Atkinson is part of Team Britain on the Great Walk To Beijing and is joined by stars including Sir Cliff Richard, Anton Du Beke and Toyah Wilcox.
