Alex Turner addicted to Madeleine cakes

The singer, whose side project The Last Shadow Puppets release their debut album The Age of the Understatement today, said: "I'm addicted to Madeleines."
Turner's songwriting partner, Mile Kane from The Rascals, added: "Two weeks in the French countryside - we’d never drunk so much red wine or devoured as many Madeleine cakes. They’re the new hallucinogenic of choice."
The pair hope their album will help revitalise pop music, which they feel is "lifeless".
Turner is quoted as saying: "Pop is lacking singable harmonies and proper melodies these days."
Kane agreed: "There's no proper pop left. The stuff you hear now lacks class. The production is sterile, lifeless. We wanted to make a great pop record."
