Gordon Ramsay slams 'static' French

Gordon Ramsay has blasted French cuisine after one of the country's top food critics slammed his eatery at the Trianon Palace Hotel in Versailles.

Last month François Simon said he expected Ramsay's menu to be "utterly predictable" and serve a "karaoke cuisine".

Ramsay retaliated in an interview with Time Out: "That level of arrogance. You can find s*** food anywhere - France has more branches of McDonalds than anywhere in the world. They're static, and they're s****ing themselves. It takes a Scotsman to do it for them."
