McGregor reveals skin cancer scare

Ewan McGregor has revealed that he underwent surgery after a cancerous mole was discovered under his right eye.

The 37-year-old said he had an operation to remove several moles from his face after a doctor found "a little skin cancer" during a check-up.

He told BBC Breakfast: "I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct."

McGregor said he wanted to have his skin examined because he was aware of the risks of having a pale complexion and spending time in the sun.

He described the surgery as "not that big of a deal", insisting that he now felt "fine".

His new film Deception opens on Friday.
