Patrick Kielty pleads guilty to speeding

Comedian Patrick Kielty has admitted to speeding at 101mph in the south of Scotland last year.

The 37-year-old, who presented Fame Academy and Love Island, was stopped by police on the A75 Gretna-Stranraer road in Dumfries and Galloway on December 27.

He entered the guilty plea by letter at Stranraer Sheriff Court.

Kielty, of Dundrum, Co Down, was ordered to appear in the dock on May 20.

He will be asked to offer reasons why he should not be disqualified for driving at 41mph above the speed limit.
