The driver who crashed James Bond's Aston Martin into Lake Garda in Italy has been fined £400 for dangerous driving.

British engineer Fraser Dunn lost control of the £134,000 sports car while delivering it for a scene in new movie Quantum of Solace.

The vehicle veered off a narrow bend and plunged into the 150ft lake in heavy rain in the early hours of Saturday.

Dunn was knocked unconscious in the crash but came to in time to swim to the surface.

Local police chief Marco Zucchelli said the 29-year-old had been given the standard fine for dangerous driving "because [he] lost control of the car".

Dunn, of Leamington Spa, said he was "lucky to be alive" after the crash, adding: "The whole thing was a bit James Bond-like.

“Apart from a few bruises, I am fine. It's actually very embarrassing and I'd like to try and forget the whole thing."
