Williams 'haunted by Ledger's ghost'

Michelle Williams believes she is being haunted by late actor Heath Ledger.

The actress, who had two-year-old daughter Mathilda with her former fiancé, said he had appeared on two occasions as a "shadowy apparition".

According to friends, she claimed that she first became aware of his presence when she was woken at night after hearing furniture move. During the second visit, he apologised for leaving her to raise their child alone.

Williams reportedly said the incidents helped her to grieve.

Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in January, aged 28.
