McGregor, Carrey visit gay bar for research

Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey have reportedly visited a gay bar together.

The actors were spotted attending 'Martini Tuesday' at Miami's Halo bar in preparation for their new film I Love You Phillip Morris, in which they will play lovers.

A source is quoted as saying: "Jim and Ewan looked like they were having a great time. They were laughing and joking and looked as though they were really trying to get into character."

Based on Steve McVicker's book, the story focuses on real-life con artist Steven Marshall (Carrey), who falls in love with his cellmate Phillip Morris (McGregor). Once Morris is released, Marshall attempts to break out of prison.
