Anderton speaks out on drug addictions

Sophie Anderton has admitted that drug addictions nearly killed her.

The Celebrity Love Island star revealed that she was hooked on illegal substances from the age of 18 because of the pressures of modelling.

Speaking on US TV, she said: "It was offered in a way that, 'Oh don’t worry, this will keep you up and you’ll be able to work the next day'."

Anderton claimed that her mother was petrified she would outlive her during one period because she "looked wrecked".

She commented: "I was barely existing. After a drugs binge, your skin looks grey and your eyes look purple. My skin looked wrecked.

"I was lucky to survive the uppers and downers. My mother said, 'I’m scared, you’re not allowed to die before I do'."

The model went into rehab in November last year following tabloid revelations about her addictions.
