The singer spent last night in the cells after she was arrested over an incident which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson for Winehouse confirmed that she confessed to slapping an unnamed man "with an open hand" while on a night out in Camden.
"Amy was fully co-operative with inquiries and apologised for the incident," the representative explained. "She thanked the police for their professional handling of the matter. There will be no further action taken."
The incident will now remain on record and could count against Amy if she commits a similar offence in the future.
Winehouse is now planning to resume work on her forthcoming third album. Her spokesperson said: "Amy is looking forward to continuing her work on new music in the studio."
