Scarlett Johansson is engaged to boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, her spokesman has confirmed.

Reynolds, 32, recently popped the question but no wedding date has been set.

Johansson's publicist Marcel Pariseau said: "They're both thrilled."

The 23-year-old actress was spotted showing off a diamond ring at a gala last night, according to People.

Reynolds was engaged to singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette from 2004 until their split in 2006. He has been dating Johansson for more than a year.
