Pete Doherty's early release from Wormwood Scrubs prison has angered anti-drug campaigners.
The singer, who was given a 14-week jail sentence in April, only served 29 days in jail. After being freed yesterday, Doherty said he was looking forward to a "rum and coke" and spending time with his cats.
Commenting on the rocker's shortened prison term, ex-police chief John O'Connor told The Sun: "They should have made an example of him, not let him go."
Conservative MP Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones said: "It sends the wrong message that he is released early."
It was reported last month that the Babyshambles star was taking heroin while in jail. However, Doherty showed journalists a certificate yesterday proving that he was clean during his stint behind bars.
