The 50-year-old actor, who currently stars as TV executive Jack Donaghy in the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, admitted in an interview for 60 Minutes that moving into politics "is something I might do one day".
He said: "There are other things I want to do [besides acting]. There's no age limit on running for office, to a degree."
The actor has been fiercely critical of the Bush administration, at one point referring to Vice President Dick Cheney as a terrorist. He later retracted the comment but called Cheney "a lying, thieving oil whore and a murderer of the U.S. Constitution".
