Zoe Ball escapes car accident "by inches"

Zoe Ball narrowly missed getting hit by a car that clipped her cameraman while they were filming in East Sussex.

The TV and radio host was shooting a promotional trailer near her home in Hove yesterday when the accident occurred.

Ball's husband Norman Cook said: "Zoe is totally OK, she is a little bit shaken but she is definitely not injured. The cameraman was slightly injured, not badly, just cuts and grazes.

"She was filming a promo for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) at the end of our road. A woman came out of a parking space and appeared to lose control and careered into Zoe's cameraman. She was missed by inches.

"He had some treatment in an ambulance. It definitely shook them all up quite a bit. It could have been carnage but thankfully no one was badly hurt."

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "An old lady driving a car clipped a cameraman as he was filming Zoe Ball. He has got cuts and bruises, was treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment."
