Pitt attends Bono's birthday bash

Brad Pitt was among guests at Bono's 48th birthday bash at the weekend.

The U2 frontman held a select dinner party at the Sass' Café in Monaco, where 12 guests enjoyed a sit-down meal followed by a champagne toast and strawberry cake.

The maître d' told People: "It was really quite a surprise. It wasn't organised in advance. We only got called on it that afternoon."

Prince Albert of Monaco and U2 bandmate The Edge also joined Bono and wife Ali at the bash.

Pitt's partner Angelina Jolie did not attend, although she visited the musician in France the previous week.
