Sex And The City writer/director Michael Patrick King has denied reports of arguments between the film's stars.

Speaking at the movie's world premiere, King said: "The only drama on the Sex And The City movie was on the internet. On set we had a blast, all the girls were amazing. It's fun to talk about but it's not real. What's real is the work, the fun and the story."

King explained that the only difficulty he found in bringing his TV show to the big screen was juggling four different storylines.

He said: "I have four female stars, four different storylines - no movie I can think of has four gigantic female parts in one movie. So the big deal was making it big and getting it on the screen in time.

"I certainly had the actresses who were up to it."

It was reported that the long-standing rivalry between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall threatened Monday's premiere.

Sex And The City is released in cinemas on May 28.
