Elvis medicine bottle up for auction

Rex Features

An empty medicine bottle belonging to Elvis Presley is to go under the hammer later this month.

A toaster owned by Sir Elton John and a Christmas card from Sir Paul McCartney to Adam Ant are also among celebrity artifacts being sold on May 31.

Other lots up for auction in New York include a wooden spoon signed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969.

Money raised will go to the Music Rising organisation, which was co-founded by U2 guitarist The Edge to help musicians in New Orleans affected by 2005's Hurricane Katrina.
