Shania Twain splits from husband

Shania Twain and husband Robert Lange have separated, People reports.

Country singer Twain married record producer Lange in 1993. They have one son, 6-year-old Eja D'Angelo.

Spokesman Jason Owen said in a statement: "Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."

Speaking about her relationship with Lange in 2002, Twain said: "Our love has always been based on friendship and compatibility," though, she continued, "we are very different".

Twain's hits include 'That Don't Impress Me Much', 'Come on Over' and 'Man! I Feel Like a Woman!'.
