Doherty keen to resume contact with son

Pete Doherty has decided to bury the hatchet with his ex-lover Lisa Moorish for the sake of their five-year-old son.

The Babyshambles frontman has been trying to organise a regular schedule to see son Astile after reportedly getting clean of drugs during his recent stint in prison.

Moorish had previously told Doherty that he was banned from seeing Astile because she did not believe he was fit to be a parent.

"Lisa kept Pete away from Astile because of his drug habit," a source told the Mail on Sunday. "But she cares very deeply for both of them and Lisa wants to believe that Pete really has kicked his habit so he can enjoy a real relationship with his son."

Doherty recently revealed that a fellow prisoner had threatened to stab him during his time in jail.
