Carell not fussy about movie roles

Steve Carell has revealed that he is so surprised to be offered movie roles that he takes anything that comes his way.

The comedian has starred in several poorly-received films during his career but said he is just grateful to be involved in the industry.

Talking about his movie choices, he told US chatshow host Conan O'Brien: "Someone offers me a part in a film and I take it. Clearly there's been no rhyme or reason or anything. Am I getting paid? Absolutely.

"I'm always astounded to be offered any sort of role so I'm like: 'All right, I'm going to play a rapist? Cool. I always wanted to play a rapist.'"

The 45-year-old added: "So there hasn't been a career path in that sense; it's just kind of been the luck of the draw."
