Winehouse's mum brands wedding "a joke"

Amy Winehouse's mum Janis has described her daughter's wedding in 2007 as "a joke".

The singer married Blake Fielder-Civil in Miami, Florida in May last year.

Speaking to the Daily Mail about Amy's relationship, Janis said: "He's been in prison for almost as long as they've been together.

"It's a joke. But then so was the wedding, really."

When asked whether she was unhappy to have missed the ceremony, she replied: "I know Mitch, Amy's father, was upset [but] I think they were in Miami and got caught up in the moment, and that was it.

"It was more like a picnic in the park than a wedding."

Fielder-Civil is currently in Pentonville prison on charges of perverting the course of justice.
