McKee: 'I don't always feel sexy'

Hollyoaks star Roxanne McKee has claimed that she did not expect to be voted sexiest female at the British Soap Awards.

The actress, who plays Louise Summers on the Channel 4 soap, has won the category for the last two years.

However, she said she is as prone to her bad days as the next girl, telling the Press Association: "Like any female, I certainly don't feel sexy the whole time. I think sexiness is a state of mind.

"I do read articles in which pretty women moan about their looks, but I don't think anyone should complain about getting attention if they're attractive. At the end of the day just be happy with what you've got."

Talking about scooping the gong for the second consecutive year, she said: "I know my own weaknesses and so never expected to win an award like this. But it's so lovely and flattering that people are taking their time out to vote for me. I wake up in the morning with my hair all over my face thinking, 'Ugh! Quick, get the bronzer!'"
