Horrocks's mum upset by tripe confession

Jane Horrocks has admitted that she had a telling-off from her mum after appearing on a TV show.

The former Absolutely Fabulous star talks about her childhood meals during BBC Two's A Taste Of My Life.

She told Teletext: "I [said] I used to eat tripe with chips and vinegar - but the smell during filming made me heave.

"My mum was horrified when she knew I was going to mention tripe as she thought it made us sound really poor!"

A Taste Of My Life airs May 26 at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
