TV gardener Monty Don has said he is "recovering well" after suffering a minor stroke six weeks ago.
The presenter revealed that he had quit BBC show Gardeners' World last week after five years.
He made his first public appearance since his announcement at the Hay Festival in Mid Wales, where he gave a speech calling for more organic farming.
He told the audience that he was "very happy" to be free of the "burden" of spending 12 hours a day filming the series.
The 52-year-old added that he was concentrating on making a full recovery, saying: “I am pottering around and having a nice time.”
