A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of Harry Potter actor Robert Knox.
Knox, who played wizard Marcus Bielby in new Potter film The Half-Blood Prince, was stabbed to death outside the Metro bar in Sidcup, Kent in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 18-year-old is believed to have intervened when his brother Jamie, 17, became involved in an argument with a man armed with two knives.
Karl Bishop, an unemployed 21-year-old from Sidcup, has been charged with murder. He also faces five counts of wounding another five people, one of whom may have been left paralysed. It has emerged that he attended the same primary school as Knox.
He was remanded in custody after appearing before Bexleyheath magistrates this morning. He did not apply for bail and will next appear at the Old Bailey on September 2.
Knox finished shooting The Half-Blood Prince last week and was due to appear in the next instalment of the franchise.
He also starred in 2004 film King Arthur, as well as The Bill and Nicholas Lyndhurst sitcom After You've Gone.
His dad Colin said: "It's impossible to convey the sadness and loss that we all feel but we now realise Rob touched many people's lives."
Knox is the ninth teenager to be stabbed to death in London this year.
