The 71-year-old was admitted to a Monaco hospital last week after suffering from abdominal pains in the night.
Paul Carey, a spokesman for Bassey, said the singer was "making a good recovery and doctors are happy with her progress".
The Welsh singer is expected to recover in time for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in Hyde Park next month.
Bassey's hits include the James Bond songs 'Goldfinger', 'Diamonds Are Forever' and 'Moonraker', along with 'Big Spender' and 'History Repeating'.
