Mike Tyson has vowed to "save" troubled ex-footballer Paul Gascoigne after hearing about his recent problems.

Gascoigne checked into The Priory clinic following an incident at a West London hotel last weekend. It was the second time that he had entered rehab this month.

According to Tyson's close friend Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, the ex-boxer wants to offer his guidance and is planning to pay a visit to Gazza.

"Mike will be a brilliant help to Paul. He's an excellent person for him to talk to, almost like a counsellor," former Big Brother star Aisleyne told the Daily Star. "He will really sort Paul's problems out.

"Mike's really not like people think. He's made out to be this scary, fearsome person but he's nothing like that. He's a great guy and a perfect gentleman - and one of my good friends."

Priory insiders have claimed that Gazza is "in denial" about his problems.
