Alec Baldwin pens divorce book

Alec Baldwin is penning a book to help guide families through divorce.

Baldwin, who divorced actress Kim Basinger in 2002, has been involved in a bitter feud with his ex-wife over their daughter Ireland.

The 50-year-old actor noted that his book, titled A Promise To Ourselves, will not attack Basinger, however he admitted that it "might have been in everyone's best interests" if they had never married.

Baldwin's book will offer advice on custody rights and co-parenting strategies. In it, he compared getting divorced to "being tied to the back of a pick-up truck and dragged down a gravel road".

Last year, audio from a telephone voicemail recording was leaked online that featured Baldwin ranting at his daughter, branding her a "thoughtless little pig".
