O'Neal arrested for drug possession

Oscar winner Tatum O'Neal has been arrested for possessing crack cocaine.

The 44-year-old actress was held by police at her home in New York's Lower East Side, according to US reports.

She allegedly told officers that she had been clean for two years, but admitted to recently suffering a relapse.

O'Neal won the best supporting actress Academy Award for her role in Paper Moon when she was aged ten.

She married tennis star John McEnroe is 1986, but they divorced six years later.
