The 48-year-old will be made an honorary doctor of law by Dundee University, the institution where she once served as rector.
Principal Sir Alan Langlands said: "She was an extremely popular rector, she remains a strong supporter of this university and the city of Dundee, and she is tireless in her work for charity.
"Lorraine has also been a terrific ambassador for several of the major fundraising campaigns we have run in Dundee, particularly those in support of cardiovascular research."
Classical violinist Nicola Benedetti will also be recognised by the university.
Kelly's graduation ceremony will take place on June 20. Benedetti will pick up her degree on July 8.
