Michelle Monaghan has confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child.

The actress and husband Peter White are expecting the baby to be born in the autumn. A representative for the couple said: "They are very excited."

The pair, who met in a New York City bar, married in August 2005.

Monaghan's film credits include Made Of Honour, Gone Baby Gone, Mr & Mrs Smith and Mission: Impossible III.
