Daniel Day-Lewis has claimed that he could win I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The actor said he had learned various skills during his career which he could put to good use in the Australian jungle.

Contactmusic quotes him as saying: "I should apply to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! I could show you. I can eat maggots with the best of them.

"I dare say there are still things that I could turn my hand to if I had to."

Day-Lewis won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in There Will Be Blood at Sunday's ceremony.

He previously admitted that he was a "savage" in his early days.
