Liz McClarnon has admitted that she was unable to watch Kerry Katona's documentary because it upset her so much.

The controversial Channel 4 film Kerry and Me sparked viewer complaints when it was broadcast last June. The former Atomic Kitten star told BBC 1Xtra's afternoon host Gemma Cairney that there had been a stage when she would not have known Katona if they had met each other on the street.

McClarnon insisted that she doesn't mind being asked about Katona "all the time."

"I've always championed her and said to everyone that she will get back on form - and she has," she said. "When we see each other, we do have a good chat. I got a nice little text off her the other day. She's lovely and seems fine."

Speaking about the documentary, she said: "I did record that and did start to watch it, but had to turn it off because it upset me so much. I lived with her. She actually taught me a lot of stuff when I was 16 and 17. She was good to me - like a big sister. It does upset me very much.

Asked if she would be supporting Katona onDancing On Ice, the Hotter Than My Daughter presenter added that she hoped to be in the studio audience.

"I might go on Sunday," she said. "I quite fancy it. I'll put my thermals on and have a bit of a watch!"
