The 23-year-old presenter accepted that there was some truth behind claims that she had only been allowed to progress in showbusiness because she is the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.
She told The Mirror: "I can definitely see why having my parents has helped me get to where I want to go.
"I am very aware that having my name does get me jobs and people do have a point when they bring that up. I am lucky that my parents are who they are.
"But I grew up in television studios watching my mum and dad do This Morning and lots of shows and, just like a lot of people following in their parents’ footsteps, I got interested and it felt quite natural to me."
She added: "There are definitely moments where I can get a little bit agitated, when I feel like I have done it on my own and it just gets referred to as because of my mum and dad. But there are far worse things that people can say."
