The Dancing On Ice duo mimic Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze's iconic romantic scene for Heat magazine.
Speaking about their on-screen partnership, Schofield said that he backed Bleakley's appointment when regular co-host Holly Willoughby stepped down to focus on BBC One's The Voice.
"We just knew it was going to work," he told the magazine. "We'd met a couple of times anyway, we went out for lunch, and we'd done Text Santa together. So we knew from the word go.
"It was one of those things that didn't need a lot of discussion, because they simply said they were thinking about Christine and I agreed."
Bleakley added: "Everyone's been lovely. I couldn't ask for a nicer bunch. The whole crew, the skaters as well. And the celebs, funnily enough, they're really supportive of each other."
"Though I haven't had one for ages, because I am naturally very dark," she said, adding that fiancé Frank Lampard has "100% not" joined her for one.
The full interview appears in the new issue of Heat magazine, out today.
