The Olympic gymnast was labelled "cold as ice" by her ex-boyfriend Steve Cryer after she is said to have texted him: "It's over."
The Dancing on Ice star was reported to have ended her relationship with the financial adviser last weekend.
"I love Beth more than anything. I wanted to marry her and have children together one day," Cryer told The Sun.
"After the Olympics last summer we talked about getting married and she told me that's what she wanted.
"But then she dumped me out of the blue - as though all of that meant nothing to her. The way she did it was so cold and hurtful.
"After I got her text I rang her and she just said again, 'It's over'. I got upset and said I loved her and wanted to be with her, but she just replied, 'Sorry'.
"She said there was nothing I could do and refused to meet me to talk about things. She said she just wanted to concentrate on Dancing on Ice. I asked her if there was someone else and she said there wasn't."
He added: "I think fame has gone to Beth's head. But when the show ends and the bubble bursts, she'll come down to Earth with a bang. There will be no Olympics, no Dancing on Ice and I won't be there. It will just be a void."
However, a spokesperson for Tweddle has since insisted that she did not dump Cryer by text message, but did not give any more details.
Tweddle reportedly met Cryer during a night out in Liverpool in 2010, when she is said to have asked him out on a date.
