Holly Willoughby announces pregnancy

Holly Willoughby has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Dan Baldwin.

The 27-year-old TV host confirmed the news after Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh let it slip as she presented ITV2's Xtra Factor spinoff last night.

After she approached the judges for an assessment of the night's performances, Willoughby appeared surprised when Cowell and Walsh offered their "congratulations" before exposing her secret.

She then admitted: "Yes, I am pregnant - I don't know if people know that yet."

Willoughby told the judges that she wanted to "move on" from the discussion, but was more willing to let the news be public knowledge later. Chatting to show guest Will Young, she said: "I can't have a beer, I'm pregnant!"

The presenter tied the knot with Baldwin in August 2007. They had become engaged a year earlier.
