Cowell, Seymour 'split over children'

Simon Cowell split from Terri Seymour because she wanted children, Cowell's mum has claimed.

Julie Cowell, 82, told the Daily Mail that the millionaire music mogul and X Factor judge had resolved never to marry and never to be a dad.

She confirmed that the couple had broken up and said they had split on good terms, claiming "it's nothing horrible on either side".

"I’m very fond of Terri, I adore her. The split was really based on the fact that she wanted a baby and to get married," she said.

"Simon has always said, 'I don't want to get married and I certainly don't want a family'. I said, 'Well you will change your mind', but I still think he's adamant that he won't."

The couple started dating in 2002 after Seymour interviewed Cowell for a TV show.
