Cowell gives $9 million gift to Seymour

Simon Cowell is reported to have given ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour a $9 million 'gift' just before the couple separated.

The music mogul gave Seymour, who he dated for six years, $5 million (£3.1 million) cash and a further $4.6 million to buy a Beverly Hills home, according to Life & Style.

"Terri phoned Simon about six weeks ago and finished it," Cowell's representative told the magazine. "Simon thinks the world of Terri, and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it."

Talking about Cowell's reported decision to give Seymour a cash sum, the spokesperson added: "This isn’t the kind of thing he usually comments about."

The X Factor judge has claimed that he is "off women" following the split.
