Cole leaves studio in hospital dash

Cheryl Cole rushed from the X Factor studio on Saturday night after being told that her brother-in-law had been involved in a car accident, reports The Mirror.

Sources said emergency workers thought the smash was so bad that it was "a miracle" anyone survived.

Ashley Cole went to the hospital as soon as he heard, but kept the news from his wife until after she had filmed the The X Factor.

A friend said: "Ashley was devastated and wanted to be at his brother's side straight away. He didn't ant to upset Cheryl before the live show so waited until he broke the news."

The couple reportedly spent the night waiting by the phone after being told that the 26-year-old was not allowed any visitors.
