Cole celebrates birthday at 'X Factor' auditions

Ashley Cole has surprised wife Cheryl by turning up at the Birmingham X Factor auditions to celebrate her 26th birthday, says the Daily Mail.

The Chelsea and England footballer is thought to have greeted Cole on her lunch break with flowers, balloons and gifts, before whisking her away for a romantic meal.

The Girls Aloud star was later seen returning to the ICC Arena clutching a blue balloon and a bunch of lilies.

She was photographed waving at waiting fans and reporters before entering the venue with presenter Holly Willoughby. An assistant was also seen carrying a white-iced birthday cake shaped like a puppy.

It is the second time that Cole has surprised his wife on her birthday. Last year, he accompanied the singer to the Manchester auditions and presented her with treats including a Selfridges gift bag and flowers.
