Alexandra Burke 'wants to be a gay icon'

Alexandra Burke has claimed that she would love to be a gay icon.

The X Factor winner explained that she feels comfortable around gay men, Showbiz Spy reports.

"I would love to be a gay icon, but I've got a lot of hard work to do first," she said. "I love gay men. They're the only ones that I can trust.

"My friends Cormac and Dwayne are the most beautiful spirits in my life and I can trust them with my heart. Gay males and straight females get along more than women and straight guys."

She added: "My gay friends don't treat me any differently - they're just normal and great spirits to be around. And you can be naked in front of them."
