Jedward hit back at Bleakley jibe

X Factor duo John & Edward have hit back at the criticism they received from Christine Bleakley at the National Television Awards.

The One Show host reportedly confronted the Dublin-born brothers at last month's ceremony to accuse them of painting "a bad picture of Ireland".

However, responding to the jibe in an interview with The Sun, Edward Grimes insisted: "I think we are really good ambassadors for Ireland. When we went home everyone we met said they were really proud of us."

He added: "I think it's great that we are only 18, all the way from Ireland and now we are doing so well in the UK, it's crazy."

Recent reports alleged that John & Edward had been left "devastated" after receiving the insult from Bleakley, who is from Belfast.
