In an interview with a Sunday newspaper, Ben Murs-Hart called the singer a "self-absorbed sell-out". He admitted that he had not spoken to him since he missed his wedding to take part in The X Factor semi-final.
According to The Sun, Murs made a post on his Twitter page about his brother's comments.
"Can't believe my own blood, my own family has sold a story on me," he wrote. "It's disgusting. Especially when I wish he told the truth."
However, he deleted the message a short while later.
In a previous update he put: "The bond between twins is a unique thing: i love my brother, always have, always will."
Speaking to the newspaper, Murs admitted that he posted the initial tweet in the "heat of the moment".
"I did post the first tweet in the heat of the moment, and then decided that it would only make matters worse," he said. "I hope that this private family matter will be resolved soon as I do love Ben and only want the best for him."
He added: "My whole family is upset by this situation which has been apparent for some time and has little to do with me or The X Factor."
Murs releases his debut single 'Please Don't Let Me Go' next week.
