The 39-year-old stepped down as a judge on the ITV1 competition earlier this year. Minogue and partner Kris Smith became parents to son Ethan last summer.
Appearing on ITV's This Morning, Minogue was asked if she missed working on Simon Cowell's series.
"Um, it's hard because I was so passionate about the contestants and I loved the mentoring bit, but you know, just balancing everything with family and home," she said. "I am enjoying being at home with bubba."
On seeing some of the current series while in the UK, Minogue said: "I've been here a couple of weeks and I've seen one tiny bit and the hysterical thing was, I was flicking through the TV during the daytime so it was a repeat and I saw the bit where John came back and he was in my Judges' Home, and I turned him away so they showed that, and then they showed him sing the most incredible song and I was like, 'OK'.

"He's worked really hard and it's often the people that say no to you in this industry that make you as good as you are and I hope it gave him something to help get to where he is now."
Showing off her new cropped hairdo, Minogue told presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that she is "comfortable" with her style ahead of turning 40 next month.
"It was a mum thing," she said of the cut. "I went to my hairdresser and I said I need to do my hair in five seconds, and it wasn't long enough to put in a ponytail so I had to go shorter - but it's quite liberating."
