The girlband - Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall - claimed they were currently not interested in relationships because they are too busy with plans for their first record and the X Factor tour.
Pinnock explained that the band had learned from other celebrities' negative experiences with sports star boyfriends.
Edwards said: "I've been warned to stay away from footballers by my brother, so I'm going to do as I'm told otherwise I'll get dead legs."
Pinnock commented: "I think we've learnt from people in the past, to just not go there with footballers. They just don't seem like very nice men, do they?"
Edwards added: "I don't really have time for relationships, let alone footballers."

18-year-old Edwards was rumoured to have shared a brief romance with One Direction's Zayn Malik after they met during the recording of this year's X Factor charity single 'Wishing On A Star'. She has denied they were anything more than friends and the pair are believed to have parted ways.
Little Mix's winner's single 'Cannonball' is available to download now. The physical single is in stores from Wednesday.
