Noel Gallagher: 'I wouldn't mind seeing the Scouser win X Factor'

By
Noel Gallagher has admitted he is a secret X Factor fan and wants Chris Maloney to win - for comedy value.

The High Flying Birds frontman said: "I've been watching and I wouldn't mind seeing the Scouser win, because it'd be great to watch him have a nervous breakdown."

It's thought Simon Cowell and his team are worried the former cruise ship singer will win and ruin the show's credibility - and potentially destroy it.

Gallagher continued: "But I also think James Arthur should win. That lad's the best out of them all. I do like The X Factor, I've got to say, for my sins."

Speaking about the lineup for his Teenage Cancer Trust gigs at London's Royal Albert Hall next year, he said: "I've always been more than pleased to lend my support over the years.

"It's also now a charity that is very close to the hearts and minds of dozens of acts in the world of music. It's an honour to have the task of putting together the bills for next year's series of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall."

The event will see Noel and his former Britpop enemies Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon playing the same night and he said: "Will we play together? I hope so."

Other headliners include Ryan Adams, Kasabian and Primal Scream, while Russell Brand and Noel Fielding will be providing the comedy on one of the nights.

Gallagher also shared some parenting advice for Prince William and Kate: "They're not the first people in the country to have a baby, are they? I've had three.
