Boys II Men defend 'truthful' Cowell

Boyz II Men have defended Simon Cowell against criticism that he is too harsh on The X Factor and American Idol.

The R&B group said Cowell's honest approach was the best way to survive in the industry.

Wanya, Shawn and Nathan told Now Online: "We love Simon. He's not always right, but his approach is dead on. He's the most truthful. You have to be very straightforward in this business.

"You gotta learn to speak your mind because if not you get cluttered with everybody else. Eventually you start lying and you don't have an identity anymore."

They added: "Whether he's right or wrong, his opinion is his opinion. But a lot of the time he's dead on."
