Michelle Williams has admitted that she would "love" her former Destiny's Child bandmates to support her in the Strictly Come Dancing audience.

The singer, who is one of 14 celebrities competing in the new series, told BBC News that she has received good luck wishes from Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland via text.

"You know what, I would love, love, love for the girls to come over," she said. "But we've been texting each other on our Blackberries back and forth, so I know I have their support in that area, in that way."

Meanwhile, former Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe confessed that her professional partner "is going to have his work cut out" for him.

"I think they won't be expecting too much and they probably won't get too much either," she said.

Ex-Corrie star Tina O'Brien revealed that she can "bust a few dances on the dance floor".

"But that's usually because I've had one drink too many and I'm like, 'Oh yeah, I'm great!'," she laughed. "Then you see yourself back on camera and you're like, 'Oh no, that's just not good'."

Strictly Come Dancing begins this Saturday at 6.25pm on BBC One.
